Our Portfolio

“We knew we had the right person for our renovation project when Danielle eagerly trudged through 2 feet of snow to get to our camp on Lake Champlain when the road was closed!! She had an immediate appreciation of the structure and the “bones” of our new purchase. She saw the possibilities within our project and she attacked it with confidence and enthusiasm. Danielle, my husband and our contractor would discuss the engineering necessary for the construction and then she would do the drawings that showed exactly what I had asked for! I was lost on the engineering talk, but knew what I wanted our new camp to look like—and so did Danielle. We would recommend Waite Design and Engineering to anyone with any size project.”

About Our Firm

Waite Design & Engineering, LLC was established in 2018 by Jared and Danielle Waite. Our Senior Designer, Danielle, is responsible for residential design with over 20 years of experience in the architectural and structural fields. Our Senior Engineer, Jared, leads the structural design responsibilities of the firm and is a licensed engineer in the state of Vermont with over 16 years of experience.

Meet Jared, Structural Engineer

Jared Waite graduated from UVM in 2001 with a BS in civil engineering. He started his career at Dubois & King where he worked for over five years, then moved on to Hardy Structural Engineering where he worked for almost 12 years. He is licensed in Vermont and is expanding his licensure to other states. Jared is an innovative thinker and has an open mind when he is designing buildings structurally. This is easy to see in his past projects. “It’s not uncommon for me to consider many options for a specific solution before the architect/engineer/contractor will come to an agreement,” says Jared. This is a common thread for WDE, and Danielle also has that same drive.

Meet Danielle, Senior Designer

Danielle has a love for design. She started her career in the architectural business and worked for a timber framer designing homes and commercial buildings at architectural firms. She started making connections and really enjoyed what she was doing. Family life changes landed her at Hardy Structural Engineering where she worked for almost 10 years. While there, Danielle enjoyed being on the other side of building design and learned a lot. She was able to keep in touch with her architectural colleagues and has kept up with her residential design on her own projects throughout the years. These include whole house renovations, kitchen renovations, garage additions, decks and new homes. She is capable of producing 3D models for contractors, and she believes communication plays an important role to keep a project running smoothly.

“Jared has been super responsive with assisting several of my clients with projects that require structural engineering services. Danielle’s design work on existing home renovations as well as new construction has been truly amazing. I will continue to recommend Danielle & Jared on future projects. They are a great team!”
