This unique project is a steel structure with slab-on-deck floors and glulam rafters and wood decking roof construction. A slope-side outdoor patio bounded by a curved concrete wall boasts a fire pit and an outdoor bar area. This patio required careful detailing as it also serves a roof over a portion of the heated basement space below. A curved floor opening in the third-floor deck allows two-story views from the signature restaurant through large glass hangar doors out to the patio and ski slope, and a curved joist girder accents the space while also allowing column-free views. The exterior of the building is accented by timber brackets which support curved exterior roofs and concrete retaining walls with stone veneer.
This project was done while Jared and Danielle were employed at Hardy Structural Engineering.
