This run-down building is getting a new lease on life. Many additions have been added to the main structure over the years. Those additions will be removed and replaced with a new housing, stairs, lobby and common areas. There will be two dance studios on the first floor and three new residential units on the second floor. The existing structure had a single bearing line down the center which is not very conducive for a dance studio. In light of that, steel beams were used to eliminate the center post and create two new bearing lines. We worked closely with the architect and owner to reuse existing timber posts and beams that were removed and utilized them in the new second floor residential units.
